Summer 2013 Lookbook

Hey, all! I can't believe it's already almost the middle of July! Summer has been going by so quickly, which is making me very sad because I love it so much; especially the clothes. Summertime is the easiest time to dress for me. I can just quickly pull a dress out of my closet and go. I like the simple makeup, simple hairstyles, and just all around simplicity and casualness that summer allows. So I have put together a lookbook to show you all some of my favorite outfits and trends of the summer. I have created a video also that will be uploaded soon. Enjoy!

Look 1
I love, love, love this dress from American Eagle. The fabric is 100% polyester and it feels amazing on me. The dress is loose and flowy, making it perfect for summer.

Look 2
I can pretty much assume that maxi skirts and crop tops are the two staples in many girls' closets this summer. Now, I'm 5'1, so I have been very hesitant when it comes to wearing one. But as soon as I tried this maxi skirt from Forever 21, I loved it. Also, I was so excited when I went to Italy and found this crop top (and bandeau) at Brandy Melville. I added a necklace from American Eagle to add a little accessory to the outfit.

I will admit, I find rompers difficult. They're definitely too much trouble when you have to use the bathroom. But every once in a while I find one that I just love. I bought this romper from Forever 21. I love its pockets and its pattern. But the best part is the back (watch the video to get a glimpse). I love anything with an interesting back to it and this one is one of the bests I own.

Look 4
This top from H&M is my favorite top to wear when I'm going out at night with my friends. I love the design on it and I have been really into back black lately. I wear in the daytime by matching it with patterned shorts like these high-waist ones from Forever 21.

Look 5
The rule of thumb for crop tops: appropriate as long as your skirt/shorts cover your belly button. I do admit, I get a little self-conscious when wearing one, but they can be cute and innocent when matched with a skirt like this one from H&M. This crop top is actually a bit old. I bought it to wear with my kitty cat Halloween costume last year. I'm glad the crop top trend exploded, so I can get more use out of it!
