Black on Black on Disney

Confession: I have an obsession with black. My hair is black, my eyeliner is black and I have bought about five black dresses in the past two months. It just can't be beat, especially in the fall and winter months. My favorite part of wearing black is throwing in a pop of color just to save myself from looking like an emo kid circa 2006. Keep reading to see how this model and I put together an outfit to show how to balance between the chic class of black and the fun pop of pink.

Fun fact: the model in this picture is one of, if not the biggest, Disney lover I have ever met. So obviously, some of that Mickey magic had to be incorporated. We paired a blank tank top with a pink Mickey Mouse print (purchased from Walt Disney Worlds Parks) with a pair of simple black skinnies from Ann Taylor.

Since the weather demands a jacket to go over the tank top, we added an Ann Taylor black jacket. The jacket keeps the pure black scheme from getting too boring by adding a lighter shade of black with its trimming. When it comes to skinny jeans, heels always add an extra "umph." So for shoes, we chose a pair of black wedges from the brand Violet & Red.

Of course, there are not many fall outfits that can be completed without a scarf. The model sports a dusty pink infinity scarf from Target to add another pop of color to the sleek look.

Another pro to all black? You can have fun with colorful makeup without it clashing with the outfit. This model kept the pink and black theme with her eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick. A strong lip and light colored lid work well with all black, as dark makeup can add too much black to the outfit.

So if you're afraid to try all black, don't be. Keep a good balance with color or white and you can easily create a chic, effortless outfit. xx.
